It seems it's because of Persephone (http://thepersephonepost.blogspot.com/)
that suddenly lots of people have been reading the blog.
She has reproduced one of the drawings and made a couple of useful comments
that will send me off researching again to see if I can find out who our Suffragette was.
I'll keep you posted if I find out anything new.

Deadly Endings, Raymond Russell’s new novel, will help you find out more about Suffragettes and Suffragists, which was the original name given to our forebears. Although fictitious the author, a campaigner for women’s rights has researched the subject thoroughly and made the book into a heart-rending and powerful story, which continues to follow women’s place in society until the 1960’s. There’s even a female assassin who doesn’t hold her punches when it comes to getting rid of the male baddies!
